TenderCare began with Kevin and Cindy Payne in 1982. Today, owner Ryne Payne carries their commitment to skilled work and genuine customer care forward.

Kevin grew up in Derby and first imagined a life in coaching. A summer working at Hillside Nursery revealed a different calling: horticulture and the care of outdoor spaces.

Kevin led the field vision while Cindy served as office manager, helping turn a young company into a lasting family enterprise.
TenderCare grew to roughly 70 employees at its peak and received a national Pros in Excellence award in 2008.
Ryne learns the work
Ryne began working in the family business at 16 and later earned backflow, journeyman, and master irrigation certifications.
